RE: Do you lock your doors when you leave your rv when at a park

You know I was going to say, "Yes, always" but we were camping last week and I don't remember ever locking the doors. I guess its just who is around you and how secure you feel at the time

Check out Cactus RV park in Tucumcari, while I haven't been there, I have heard some good things about it.

RE: )regon Coast Restaurants

I have found that googling resturants is a good way to find a decent place to eat, especially when they have reviewss from other travelers

Resort vs Park

Does "resort" mean anything,is there suppose to be a difference between "resort" and "park"? The last place we stayed called itself a resort but didn't have WiFi or Cable or anything other than a couple cabins and a pool, but I have stayed at places that called themselves "park" and they had it all.

We want to do Mexico but...

I'm chicken, and I can speak Spanish>>
Is there books or blogs that can answer really basic questions.
How is getting across the border, any tricks or suggestions, other than get insurance..money..etc.
I have been to Nuevo Laredo and I remember the roads being so narrow, we could hardly get a car thru. Is that an issue
Are gas stations pretty frequent (I think we would try Baja first)
What about the return crossing, do they take your RV apart looking for illigal bananas

RE: 55 MPH no!

In Illinois the speed limit is 55 for all TV pulling a trailer. This speed limit is for most if not all trucks where the weight is over 4 tons. Even if you are pulling a Pop Up ,this 55 limit applies to you, in most areas.
That is true in California also, regardless of how many RVs you see pulling a tow car going 70 MPH

So how do you know

if you car is tow'able. Looks like we might need to take our car with us next month, we have a 2002 Hyundai and a 2002 Honda Civic and if I'm going to invest in a tow bar, I need to find out if I can first.
Thanks in advance

RE: Are we unreasonable? Recent Camping experience...

The father was out of line. The next time his kids call an adult a party pooper or something worse, he has no one to blame but himself.

RE: I need camping 101 help

We are going dry camping end of May and the place has nothing except trees and pit toilets. About 10 miles from it is a reststop with a dump. Is that water drinkable? Coud we fill up the water tanks there?

RE: RV Parks Are Raising Their Prices

You know, I was out last weekend and the park we stayed at was full and it was cold and snowing. I don't think folks are staying away either... I think they are just staying closer to home.

RE: Refrigerator Odors

I had an electric problem and the freezer defrosted... well to say the least..stinky. I washed it all out with vinegar water which helped some, then I put in a couple boxes of soda which didn't work as well, then I dumped the soda in the freezer and got it in every nook and cranny I could find and that helped. Then finally I went to WalMart (I think) and bought a refrigerator thingie that was made with charcole and now my freezer smells like new.
How do you like that for tech talk. LOL

RE: Campground advertising?

There are some campground review sites that allow the owners to post. Also, why don't they become members of Good Sam, Passport America and clubs like that.
